Allison Gerding and Cassandra Leaf
Selected to receive the MWBA Future Leaders Scholarship is Cassandra Leaf of East Leroy and Battle Creek YABA based on her service to YABA and leadership qualities.
For the past several years Cassi has worked at the MSYABA State Tournament, state banquet and awards presentations as well as the Jamboree. She has learned many of her administrative skills working with her mother, secretary of the Battle Creek YABA. Currently she is a member of the Battle Creek Youth Leaders program and serves as a representative on the Michigan State YABA Board of Directors.
Her high school and civic activities inclued, Studen Council, SADD, Youth Engaged in Service, pep band, cheer team and yearbook staff. She was also active in several sports and earned her schools Athletic Award.
Now a student at Saginaw Valley State University, she is majoring in criminal justice with a minor in youth services.

Based on her bowling and academic achievements, Allison Gerding of Davison and the Flint YABA, has been elected to receive the MWBA Star of Tomorrow Scholarship.
Allison bowls in three leagues and is a member of her high school travel league. She carries averages of 187 to 197, has a high game of 288 and high series of 696. A serious tournament bowler, she has finished in the top three sports numerous times in team as well as doubles events. Alli is a member of the All Big 9 Conference, 1st team and the Flint Metro All Star Team.
An excellent student, Allison carries a GPA of 3.8 at Davison High School. She was one of two people chosen from the state to attend the Florida Leadership Conference. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a student mentor, is involved in peer counseling, a big sister volunteer, a blood drive worker and also helps young children learn how to bowl. She is also active in several other sports, and has received the All Academic Award for softball, volleyball and bowling.
Allison will be attending Central Missouri State University where she has received a bowling scholarship. She hopes to get her degree in elementary education. MWBA is proud to present her with a $1,500 scholarship and wishes her the best of luck in all future endeavors.
